About us
The
Magnus Vikings Association was formed in January 2003. We currently
have 36 members and take part in a variety of Viking activities
such as Viking longboat races, school visits, charity events, sword
fighting demonstrations, battle re-enactment, Viking living history,
Viking crafts, boat building and costume making.

"We
aim to create awareness, in our local area, of its rich Viking
heritage"
|

Members
of the Magnus Vikings worked around the clock to build two Viking
Longboats for the annual Magnus Barelegs Festival in May 2003. The
Longboats and the festival were both and outstanding success.

We
now use the boats in festivals and events around the country. We
provide an accurate and educational portrayal of the Viking period,
with an emphasis on the daily life of the period and the culture
and skills surrounding Viking longboats
Whether
you are interested in booking the Magnus Vikings for your
event, coming to watch our displays,
joining the ranks of our membership,
or studing the Viking Age,
we hope to present information on these pages which you will find
useful.
